Magical Maasai Mara

2021-07-14

Rocky ridges, undulating plains, rivers full of hippos and crocs, a territory inhabited by millions of wild creatures.

Legendary Maasai Mara is one of Africa’s most important wildlife areas. Grassy plains and regular rainfall make it the perfect habitat for a colossal population of herbivores, consequently attracting many predators.
This 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) land is blessed with open terrain that makes game viewing easy throughout the year. The reserve is therefore a photographer’s and naturalist’s paradise.

The Maasai Mara has everything within an incredibly short distance, being it a perfect destination even if you can only visit it for a couple of days. The only park where you can be lucky enough and find the Big 5 in a single morning.

Sometime in July and August, millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles leave the Serengeti and head into the Maasai Mara around September. The Mara River Crossing along the way is certainly one of the most spectacular parts of the migration. Around October, the migration slowly heads back into the Serengeti again.

Not surprisingly, most of the Kenya tours you find in our website include the Maasai Mara. It's just magical, we couldn't help it!
